The Faculty of Training of Foreign Citizens held an online meeting with students and graduates from India

An online meeting was held at the Faculty of Training of Foreign Citizens with students of the II and III years who are studying the specialty “Medicine”. Faculty dean Oksana Parfyonova, deputy deans Kateryna Plevako and Alina Slipets, invited graduates of the year 2020-2021 participated in the meeting, which discussed the organization of the educational process at our University and new educational requirements for future employment in India. The dean of the faculty emphasized the important aspects of providing practical training for students of higher education of the II-VI courses at the clinical departments of the University both in Ukraine and abroad, taking into account the circumstances of wartime. Oksana Parfyonova noted that the purpose of the faculty’s work is to create appropriate conditions for the full-fledged training of foreign students of higher medical education, of whom there are currently about 3,000 people at the faculty.

Today, all the necessary conditions have been created for continuing studies and obtaining quality education at the National Medical University named after O.O. Bogomolets and receiving a diploma of higher education, which is recognized in the countries of Europe, the USA and Asia. As the dean noted in her speech, the evidence of the students’ trust in the University is that, in this difficult time, they return to Ukraine from Algeria, Egypt, India, Jordan, Nigeria to continue their studies, acquire theoretical knowledge during classes, and acquire professional skills in clinical practice.

It should be noted that students of the II and III years are interested in the peculiarities of taking the LI STEP-3 in English, the qualification requirements for admission to the internship and the procedural requirements for obtaining a license for medical practice. Special attention was focused on the importance of cooperation between the embassies of Ukraine and India, with the assistance of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

In turn, the graduates of the Faculty of Training of Foreign Citizens in 2021 shared their experience of studying at NMU, obtaining practical medical skills at clinical departments, taking final exams at the University and confirming the level of knowledge in their countries. Considerable attention was paid to the registration process and the procedure for recognition and legalization of the diploma.

Therefore, according to the results of the meeting, the participants outlined the main aspects of the faculty’s educational and methodological work in the context of its coordination with the new requirements of the educational program in India, determined the peculiarities of the applicants’ communication with the deputy deans and curators of the Faculty’s ЕСTS.
